Governance & Transparency - Cookie & Local Storage Policy
At XRTX Group, privacy is an engineering invariant, not a marketing claim. We believe websites should collect the absolute minimum data required to function. This page provides a complete, honest inventory of every cookie, localStorage item, and browser database used across the XRTX platform.
Default Privacy State Active
Strictly necessary technologies only. Optional functional and analytics storage remain disabled.
Privacy By Design - Our Principles
Unlike conventional web platforms, we do not monetize attention or track your behavior across the internet.
Zero Third-Party Trackers
We do not include Google AdSense, Meta Pixel, TikTok tracking beacons, or cross-site fingerprinting scripts. Your browsing activity belongs to you alone.
Privacy-First by Default
All optional categories — including convenience preferences and analytics — remain completely disabled until you explicitly give your consent.
No Cookie Walls or Dark Patterns
Rejecting optional technologies is just as easy as accepting them. We will never block access to tools, articles, or documentation because you declined optional storage.
Audit & Classification - Complete Storage Inventory
Here is every key, cookie, and database utilized by XRTX services, what it does, and how long it persists.
| Storage Key / Cookie | Mechanism | Category | Duration | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
xrtx_consent_stateStores your privacy choices (whether you accepted or rejected optional functional/analytics storage) so you are not prompted on every page visit. | localStorage | Essential | 1 Year | Strictly Necessary |
xrtx_consentFallback HTTP cookie recording your consent status in case localStorage is restricted or cleared by private browsing. | First-party Cookie | Essential | 1 Year | Strictly Necessary |
xrtx_tools_recentStores a list of the 6 most recently used utilities in XRTX Tools and Workbench for quick launcher access. | localStorage | Functional | Persistent until cleared | Requires Consent |
xrtx_tools_favouritesRemembers your starred/bookmarked tools in XRTX Tools and Workbench across browser sessions. | localStorage | Functional | Persistent until cleared | Requires Consent |
xrtx_session_*Preserves active desktop window coordinates, minimized states, and active tabs in XRTX Workbench while navigating. | sessionStorage | Essential / Functional | Browser Tab Session | Strictly Necessary |
xrtx_vfs_dbPowers the local browser Virtual File System (VFS) in XRTX Workbench, allowing you to edit, inspect, and test files locally. | IndexedDB (Sandboxed VFS) | User-Directed Storage | Persistent on Device | Strictly Necessary |
xrtx_vfs_db) is a user-initiated offline workspace. It does not track visitors or share state with external domains; files created within it exist only on your physical machine. How XRTX Transfer Works Without Cloud Storage
XRTX Transfer is architected so that file payloads never touch XRTX cloud storage or server hard drives. Instead of uploading files to a remote server, files are streamed peer-to-peer between browsers using encrypted WebRTC Data Channels.
Session encryption keys are generated randomly in browser memory and passed strictly via the URL fragment (#key=...). Because URL fragments are never sent to web servers by standard browsers, XRTX signaling servers never possess the cryptographic keys needed to decrypt transferred data.
Rejecting optional cookies or functional storage does not disable or degrade XRTX Transfer. Peer-to-peer encryption operates entirely on ephemeral WebRTC protocols independent of cookie preferences.
Device Independence - Controlling Storage in Your Browser
In addition to our built-in consent controls, you can manage or delete cookies and site data directly in your browser settings at any time:
Google Chrome
Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data and permissions.
Mozilla Firefox
Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
Apple Safari
Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Search "xrtx.co.uk".
Brave Browser
Shields → Advanced Controls → Block cross-site cookies / clear on exit.
